When the rear end was back together I moved forward to remove the engine and transmission.

When I started this endeavor I knew I was going to need help and info, so I joined an online group dedicated to the preservation of A100s, the Dodge A100 Yahoo Group. These guys and gals are a wealth of knowledge and opinions, and they helped me more than they will ever know!

After talking to the group, and looking over the engine and transmission, I decided to take them out as a unit through the bottom. So I jacked the van up and started unhookin’ shtuff.

The first thing to come out were the seats and the ‘dog house’, which covers the engine. Taking the ‘dog house’ out also removes the radiator, radiator shroud, belts, fan, and hoses. Once these were removed I unhooked the exhaust system, this allowed me easy access to the remaining parts…

I would be a low-life, egg-suckin’, lame-ass if I did not give credit to my two compadres and fellow gear-heads, Bill and Hal.

When it came time to actually drop the engine and transmission they came over and helped. Without their assistance I very well may have ended up in the hospital, or at the bottom of my hill with a van resting on top of me!

With it all out, and everything cleaned up and put away, all I had left was a big, gapin’ hole!

That’s ok, cause there’s a fresh, not-so-stock 360 cu/in with a fresh not-so-stock transmission going back in to fill that hole!

One Big Hole!
Well, that's all for now...I have some flooring to clean and paint, and an engine and transmission get ready to go in.

Stop by again and see how far I have gotten…
